One system, every unit

Communal / Complex DStv Installation in Gansbaai

Overview

One tidy communal system beats a forest of dishes on the roofline. We install and maintain SMATV / communal setups that feed every unit from a shared head-end: cleaner, cheaper to maintain and far easier on the eye and the body corporate.

We work with trustees and managing agents to design, install and document a system that's easy to service and fair to every resident. One well-built head-end, neat distribution to each unit, and clear documentation so the next technician: or the next trustee: knows exactly what's where.

For coastal complexes the shared-system approach has a real maintenance advantage: one weather-sealed head-end to look after instead of dozens of individual dishes corroding in the salt at their own pace. When something needs attention, it's one known point, not a hunt across the whole roof.

Cabling is tidy and code-compliant, outlets are provided to each unit, and we can connect decoders per unit as residents need them. We'll fault-find across the system and keep records so recurring issues get designed out, not just patched.

Maintenance and upgrade plans are available so the body corporate has a predictable, budgeted relationship rather than scrambling for a callout every time the wind blows.

We're happy to attend a trustees' or body-corporate meeting to talk through options and budget before anything is decided, and to provide clear documentation afterwards. The goal is a system the whole scheme can rely on for years: fewer dishes on the roofline, lower maintenance over time, and one accountable point of contact when something does need doing.

Communal FAQs

What is a communal system?
One properly installed dish and distribution system feeding every unit in a complex or estate, instead of each unit fitting its own dish. Each unit still has its own subscription and decoder.
Why is that better than individual dishes?
A roofline covered in dishes looks bad, and each one is a separate point of failure and a separate hole in the roof. One well-mounted communal system is easier to maintain and usually gives better, more consistent signal to every unit.
Does it suit smaller complexes in Gansbaai?
Yes. Even a handful of units around Gansbaai benefit, particularly where the buildings are exposed and every extra roof penetration is a future leak.
Who is responsible for maintenance?
Normally the body corporate or HOA maintains the shared infrastructure, and the owner looks after their own decoder and subscription. We can quote for the shared portion separately.
Can it be installed on an existing building?
Yes. Retrofitting is common. We survey the cable routes first so we can tell you honestly what is involved before anyone commits.
How do we get a quote?
Call 079 754 5527 or send us the number of units and the building layout. We will arrange a site visit and quote in writing for the trustees.
